What the 2019 election results mean for South Africa

What is the likely impact of the results on the state of politics in the country?

After South Africa’s 6th democratic election, seminar panellists will consider several key questions: will the African National Congress’ results affect President Cyril Ramaphosa’s ability to tackle endemic corruption and lead the party? If the Democratic Alliance doesn’t maintain its growth trajectory, what will this mean for the party’s future? How will the political landscape change if the Economic Freedom Fighters improve their support? What do the election results say about opposition politics and voter behaviour?
