Burundi remains in crisis 18 months after President Pierre Nkurunziza decided to stand for a third term. There is an absence of rule of law, and the government seems reluctant to engage with efforts to re-establish order in the country.

This View on Africa is presented by Stephanie Wolters, Head of the ISS Peace and Security Research Programme. She will look at where things stand in Burundi and assess responses by the East Africa Community heads of state summit.
