Long-term perspectives on Asia–Africa relations
As Asia’s global economic power grows, the impact on Africa can be understood through four alternative scenarios.
China has rapidly become Africa’s largest trading partner, and its influence on the continent grows exponentially. Asia is also the region that contributes most to global growth, and the shift in economic heft from West to East is palpable. To explore how relations between Asia and Africa could evolve in future, this seminar will discuss four scenarios: a Divided World, a World at War, a Growth World and a Sustainable World.
