Ethiopia’s refugee policy can build community relations

This seminar discusses how the new policy can enhance self-reliance among both refugees and host communities.

Ethiopia’s Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF) will dramatically change policy around protecting refugees in the country. Socio-economic opportunities for refugees and host community members will be expanded through job creation and better service provision.

Those responsible for implementing the new policy will face several challenges, including ethnic and resource-related tensions and drawbacks associated with low wages. This seminar will discuss Ethiopia’s CRRF process including its potential benefits and how to address implementation hurdles.
