Africa’s future depends on a reset of China-West relations

To develop and reduce poverty, Africa needs China, the EU and the US – not a divided world.

Rising tensions between China and the West are creating global divisions that limit Africa’s development potential. Under the current trajectory, the continent won’t achieve its goals of economic growth, improvements in income and poverty reduction. To withstand these headwinds, Africa’s leaders need to unite in their pursuit of the continent’s interests.

This event explores four global scenarios and their impact on Africa, drawing from the analysis available on the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) African Futures website. Read the full Africa in the World report here.
