ACPST course: Building state capacity to implement the Arms Trade Treaty

Language of instruction: Subject to confirmation, the course will be held in French with simultaneous English interpretation.

This course will train government officials from Francophone African states who have signed the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) on how to implement its provisions effectively.

The goal of the course is to contribute to fulfilling the two main objectives of the ATT:

Establishing common international standards for regulating the international trade in conventional arms
Preventing and eradicating the illicit trade in and diversion of conventional arms.

Course instructors include international academics and practitioners with experience in arms control, legal issues, diplomacy and/or military affairs, from national government agencies, international organisations, advocacy groups and research centres.
