This guide will help strengthen understanding of gender equality, peace and security and gender-based violence, using international best practices. The guide also provides concrete elements and tools for applying a gender perspective in day-to-day work. Doing so will not only contribute to the effectiveness of this work, but will also be an important factor in ensuring its success.
The Gender Manual is part of the ISS's Training for Peace (TfP) Programme in support of the Southern African Regional Poilice Chief's Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) and Eastern African Regional Poilice Chief's Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO). The materials presented in the package are intended for use by civilian, police and military personnel working in the constantly evolving field of peace and security operations. The information will be used to develop specific training modules in the future.
