This report summarises the discussions and recommendations from a 9 March workshop on policy gaps between maritime and gender.

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS), with funding from the Government of Norway, organised an online high-level learning event on ‘Addressing the gaps between maritime and gender frameworks’ on 9 March 2022.

Nineteen participants attended the meeting, which was held under the Chatham House Rule. The first session took stock of ongoing initiatives around woman empowerment and gender mainstreaming in the maritime sector in Africa.
