The conflicts in Burundi, the Central African Republic, Libya and Mali have persisted despite several international attempts to restore peace and stability. The African Union (AU) has made efforts to assert its conflict management responsibility in these conflict regions, but several factors constrain its effectiveness.

This View on Africa briefing is presented by Ndubuisi Christian Ani, Researcher, ISS Addis Ababa. He will analyse the current efforts by the AU to address these long-standing conflicts.
