View on Africa: the Gulf crisis draws in its African neighbours

How will the current split affect security in the Horn of Africa?

The Horn of Africa risks becoming engulfed in the dispute between Saudi Arabia and Qatar and countries are already being asked to choose sides. The recent departure of Qatari peacekeeping troops from the Eritrea-Djibouti border is just the first in a number of setbacks for the region.

This View on Africa briefing is presented by Omar S Mahmood, Researcher, ISS Addis Ababa. He will discuss the impact of the recent Gulf split on security in the Horn of Africa and its implications for the countries involved.
