President Joseph Kabila won’t be running for a third term. He is barred from doing so by the constitution but kept the country in suspense on this question for close to three years. Ramazani Shadary has been nominated to run for the presidential coalition. Kabila’s decision is an important step, but attention must remain on the election process.
