New research and new solutions for organised crime in Africa

This seminar discusses innovations in the measurement and long-term analysis of transnational organised crime.

The growing problem of transnational organised crime in Africa needs new investigation and fresh solutions. Innovations in data and ICT in the development sector, such as hotspot and geospatial analysis, offer a lot of potential.

This full-day seminar will discuss new ways to measure organised crime. It will also consider the future of organised crime in Africa based on key drivers and their relationship to social and economic factors. Speakers will draw on lessons from innovative projects in Kenya and elsewhere on the continent.
