Matching aid to Africa’s priorities

What kind of development aid spending will reduce poverty in sub-Saharan Africa?

What should development aid in sub-Saharan Africa be spent on? This seminar presents new results of an ISS analysis of aid flows to Africa.

Sub-Saharan Africa continues to experience very rapid population growth and so is likely to remain poor. Scenarios on future levels of aid until 2030 show that support is needed for government efforts to reduce high fertility rates. This will, in time, reduce poverty and allow citizens to benefit from inclusive economic growth.

The research report will be available at the seminar.
