This seminar considers the country’s already fragile security situation and the possible impact on political liberalisation.

Both the pandemic and measures taken to contain it are expected to have significant consequences for Ethiopia’s social and political stability, and its political transition. How will COVID-19 affect the already fragile security situation in the country and the political liberalisation that started in 2018?

This seminar will examine the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on Ethiopia, with a focus on the state of emergency, political stability and governance.

The seminar will be conducted in English.
