ISS Seminar: Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa
Pretoria: 5 June 2008

Seminar presented by the ISS Crime, Justice and Politics Programme

The recent xenophobic attacks have shaken the nation and triggered a genuine search for explanations and solutions.

Whilst a great deal has thus far been said in the public domain about possible causes, there does not seem to be an agreement as to what South Africa should in the short, medium and long term do to resolve and avert the recurrence of the kinds of problems we are currently witnessing.

Against this background, you are hereby invited to a seminar envisaged as follows:

(2) Moeletsi Mbeki, Deputy Chairperson – South African Institute of International Affairs
(3)  Jody Kollapen, Chairperson – Human Rights Commission

Date: 5th June 2008
