The African.org

The African.org was launched in June 2009 and aimed to disseminate ISS research in an accessible way. The magazine focused on analysis of news events in Africa that considered the implications and future scenarios of developments across the continent. In addition to the political analysis which formed to core content, the African.org included business news and articles on travel, food and technology. Contributors included ISS researchers and other well known analysts. Each issue featured interviews with top newsmakers, including Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, past Presidents Joachim Chissano of Mozambique and John Kufuor of Ghana, United Nations special envoys, foreign ministers and ambassadors.

The African.org`s circulation peaked at 22 000 in 2012 when it was included in subscribers’ copies of the Mail&Guardian newspaper in South Africa and a number of SADC countries. The African.org was also sold in Kenya and Zimbabwe. Due to financial constraints, The African.org was closed in mid-2012. The magazine featured 18 issues which are available for download in PDF format in this archive. Click on the images below to download the specific edition.
