In response to the despair surrounding the growing challenge of rhino poaching and other wildlife crimes in Southern Africa, there is a need to profile the issue from new angles with fresh solutions. ENACT, a new project dedicated to developing Africa’s response to organised crime, will host a public seminar to commemorate World Rhino Day and launch the report of a new ENACT pilot study on organised wildlife crime.
This event will bring increased attention to rhino poaching and other wildlife crimes in the region through a two-part, high-level panel discussion. The first discussion will focus on ways to improve the fight against wildlife crime with better information and data collection. The second discussion will focus on domestic and regional responses to these key issues.
