What kind of leader do South Africa’s police need?

After nearly two decades of poor leadership, reform will be a major undertaking for any new head.

On 25 February, South Africa’s National Commissioner Khehla Sitole joined a long list of police chiefs whose contracts were prematurely terminated over the last 22 years. This conversation between experts on police leadership politics will unpack some of the recent scandals and opportunities in the service. They will discuss the kind of leadership needed to rebuild public trust in the South African Police Service and help it realise its significant potential.
