How have COVID-19 and responses to the pandemic affected African borders? This online seminar considers the state of the continent’s borders and borderlands since the pandemic started in March 2020. Speakers will cover the change in perceptions about borders, COVID-19’s lasting impact, and implications for the African Union Protocol on Free Movement of Persons.
This seminar is co-hosted by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship (CAS) at the University of Pretoria, and Addis Ababa University (AAU).
