Partnering on AU reform and human security

As the 29th summit kicks off, this seminar discusses the issues of AU reform and self-reliance.

Key issues on the agenda of the upcoming African Union (AU) summit are how to reform the AU and how to fund it. From 27 June to 4 July, leaders gathered in Addis Ababa will debate how to relieve the AU’s dependence on donor partners and achieve greater self-reliance. This will require new forms of collaboration between the AU and international partners.

This seminar provides a platform to discuss these important issues with senior AU representatives, key partners from the United Nations, European Union, United States and China, and ISS experts.
