Mapping Africa's priorities ahead of the EU-AU Summit
This seminar considers whether Africa’s primary concerns are reflected in the planned global strategy.
African states and the European Union (EU) are expected to negotiate a new strategy to be adopted at the EU-Africa Summit scheduled for October 2020. To frame the negotiations, a European Commission communique proposed key areas for consideration: green transitions and energy access, digital transformation, sustainable growth and jobs, peace and governance, and migration and mobility.
This seminar will discuss whether these five areas align with African priorities, and the likely impact of COVID-19 on EU-Africa engagement.
