How to strengthen research on violence in South Africa

New analysis shows gaps and opportunities in the study of projects to prevent violence against women and children.

How is violence against women and children represented by those researching it and those designing interventions to prevent it? Are some causes of violence understated? Have important voices been silenced or left out of the conversation?

This seminar aims to have a critical conversation about how violence is portrayed in South African research. Speakers will discuss the findings from a new policy brief on the issue. They will also consider how to deal with tensions and contradictions inherent in various schools of thought.
