How can Africa’s youth use digital tech for peacebuilding?

This seminar explores the use of digital technology, including artificial intelligence, by young people engaged in peace initiatives.

To mark the African Union’s (AU) Youth Month and the 10th anniversary of the United Nations youth, peace and security agenda, this seminar will explore how youth can leverage digital technologies for conflict prevention, early warning and social cohesion.

The event will also launch a new policy paper on the topic that discusses ethical risks such as bias and disinformation, and governance needs. The seminar aims to foster dialogue among youth, experts and policymakers on the responsible use of digital technology, including artificial intelligence, in peace initiatives.

This event is co-hosted by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), African Union (AU) and Inclusive Peace.

Simultaneous English-French interpretation will be provided.
