Demographics and climate change: Africa’s difficult development choices

How are these twin dynamics shaping the development policies of African states?

Recent experience in the Sahel and the Horn of Africa illustrates that a failure to plan for the effects of climate change and population growth can push fragile countries into conflict. This seminar will explore the impact of these twin dynamics on the political and economic prospects of African states and economies. Speakers will also consider the policy options that can lead to better development outcomes.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
