Call for expression of interest: consultant process facilitators

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) invites expressions of interest from experienced consultant facilitators to support and facilitate the Violence Prevention Forum (VPF) meetings.

The Violence Prevention Forum is a multisectoral platform that meets twice a year, bringing together researchers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), government departments, donors, development partners, and the private sector. Its long-term goal is to ensure that the best knowledge and evidence inform violence prevention efforts in South Africa.

The VPF is guided by a multisectoral driver group, and its meetings are facilitated by independent, skilled facilitators. VPF meetings are process-driven, not agenda-driven, and are facilitated in an inclusive manner that draws on the diversity of voices, knowledge, and experience in the room. Shared values enable equal and constructive participation. These are: respect, active listening, deep democracy, empathy, commitment, courage, collaboration, partnership, and fun.
