ISS Pretoria: Receptionist and Administrative Assistant

The ISS is seeking an energetic and efficient individual to assist the Pretoria office with financial, human resources and general office administration, including serving as receptionist. This position requires a highly organised and motivated team player who can work under pressure. The successful candidate will be part of the ISS Operations Department and report to the Office Administration and Facilities Manager and the Director of Communication.

Overview of duties

  • Undertake effective financial administration, including procurement and payments
  • Provide travel and logistical support to relevant staff
  • Assist with office amenities and facilities such as stationery, refreshments, equipment, building maintenance, events and meetings
  • Provide general administration support, including organising staff meetings, responding to external enquiries, liaison with service providers, booking of services, record keeping and filing
  • Receive visitors at reception and direct incoming calls

Overview of requirements

  • A diploma in business administration or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organising skills, including speed, efficiency and attention to detail
  • Budgeting and financial administration skills
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and solve problems quickly, effectively and calmly
  • Strong people skills and a highly professional approach in ensuring the utmost confidentiality and integrity of the department
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Proven competence in MS Office and knowledge of Excel

The contract will be for two years and may be renewed subject to department requirements, funding and satisfactory performance. A competitive salary is offered.
