ISS Seminar: Somalia: A Civil War Reignited?
Pretoria, 25 April 2007

Presenter: Richard Cornwell, Senior Research Fellow, ISS

Ethiopia’s military intervention in Somalia has raised many questions, not least of which is whether it will have the effects desired by the government in Addis Ababa. This seminar will address the impact of the attempted “pacification” of Mogadishu and the prospects for a reconciliation of Somali clans. It will also seek to shed light on the possible role of an international peacekeeping force in the near future.
