The ISS and the Mail and Guardian invite you to a Critical Thinking Forum on South African Crime and Security during the 2010 World Cup and Beyond

The panel discussion will explore the following types of questions. Were the fears about crime, human trafficking, terrorism and security in the run-up to the World Cup realistic and if not why not? To what extent did the security planning and the resources made available to the police affect crime during the event? How could we build on the legacy of the World Cup in terms of improving safety and security more generally in South Africa and what are the key challenges in this regards?

Moderated by Judge Dennis Davis
