Release of the Findings of the Third National Victims of Crime Survey in South Africa and Launch of a Crime and Justice Information Hub
Pretoria, 8 May 2008
ÂÂ
In 2007, the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) undertook the third national victims of crime survey in South Africa. The survey was designed to ensure comparability with similar ones conducted in 1998 and 2003. The 2007 survey was conducted between October and November. The findings of the survey include information on people’s opinions and perceptions about crime, personal safety, corruption, the police and courts, among others. It is against this background that the ISS invites you to a public seminar at which the findings of the 2007 victims of crime survey will be released. This seminar will also act as the first in a series of events to be unveiled throughout the year as part of the launch of a Crime and Justice Information Hub hosted by our Crime and Justice Programme (CJP).
