Niger: women’s views on insecurity in the Tillabéri region

The crisis in the country’s south-west is exacerbating women and girls’ exposure to gender-based violence.

The security crisis in Niger’s Tillabéri region is harming communities, especially women, who have little opportunity to speak out. A new report by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP-Niger) draws on the testimonies of 52 of these women. It highlights the effects of insecurity and presents recommendations that reflect the priorities of the women consulted.

This seminar presents the report’s findings for discussion among decision makers in Niger. It aims to contribute to the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda in the country.

This seminar is co-hosted by the ISS and WANEP-Niger and will be held in French.
