ISS Workshop: Sudan Scenarios to Strategy

In a 4-day closed workshop in South Africa, key SPLM and NCP officials, representatives of the Government of National Unity and the Government of South Sudan will discuss the future of their country. The purpose of the workshop is to improve the strategic thinking of major stakeholders for the remaining interim period and after the January 2011 self-determination referendum.

 

Organised by the African Security Analysis Programme of the ISS-Pretoria, the workshop will involve a set of key Sudanese decision-makers and international experts. After long weeks of tense negotiations between NCP and SPLM Sudanese stakeholders will have the opportunity to reflect on the future of the biggest country in Africa.

 

A report of the workshop will be made public early next year.
