ISS Workshop, Kenya: BY INVITATION ONLY: RECSA/ISS Regional Media Workshop

Date: 2010-04-12 to 2010-04-13

In recognition of the media’s important role in sensitising the public, the Regional Centre on Small Arms (RECSA) in collaboration with the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) is organising a two-day media workshop from April 12-13 at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa Kenya. This will be a regional event with representation of two (2) media personnel from the 13 RECSA countries in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa region.

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness about issues of small arms, the Nairobi Protocol, the Protocol on Cattle Rustling and other related issues. In addition, the meeting seeks to build a network of journalists that RECSA and ISS can work with in future to highlight these issues to the general public.
