This workshop is a follow-up to an experts’ workshop on securing Africa’s nuclear resources that was held in February 2011. The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to report back on implementation of the ‘Action Plan on Securing Africa’s Nuclear Resources’ that was drafted at a 2011 ISS workshop and to share lessons and experiences on strengthening nuclear security in their country and sub-region. The workshop will bring together 30 representatives from African nuclear regulatory bodies, sub-regional and regional organisations, as well as African nuclear security experts.
