ISS Seminar with Cairo University and Nigerian War College:
Building Bridges and Overcoming the Gaps in Understanding Terrorism in Africa
Cairo, 19-20 May 2007

Presented by the African Security Analysis Programme, in cooperation with the Cairo University and Nigerian War College.

The main objective of the seminar will be to explore the gaps in the efforts to combat and prevent terrorism in Africa and to come up with ways of building bridges across the continent. In particular, the seminar will seek to build bridges between North and sub-Saharan Africa, between Africa and the West, and between practitioners, scholars/researchers, civil society, communities and the general public. It is hoped that the process of building these bridges will also provide opportunities for forging and strengthening partnerships that are necessary in combating and preventing terrorism in Africa.
