ISS Seminar, Cape Town: Open Government Partnership 1st Annual Meeting

The international Open Government Partnership (OGP) is holding its first annual meeting on 17-18 April 2012. Representatives of the 50+ member countries will gather in Brasilia to celebrate the tremendous progress that has been made to date, to exchange best practices, and to grow and strengthen the global collaborative network of open government leaders.  South Africa is one of the eight founding governments of the OGP. (for more details on the OGP see: www.opengovpartnership.org)

The ISS Cape Town office in collaboration with other civil society groups based in Cape Town active in supporting the work of the OGP (such as Global Integrity) invite you to attend a live streaming of select sessions of the event in our Cape Town office. To view the full agenda of the Open Government Partnership (www.opengovpartnership.org/Brasilia2012/Agenda)

This will give those who cannot attend the event an opportunity to participate from afar. This two day meeting offers an opportunity for open government advocates throughout the world to connect with local civic activists and public officials as well as with those working on similar problems in other countries. This is an opportunity to get together to watch the live video stream, engage in the conversation via the live chat or on Twitter or Facebook, and discuss plans to move open government forward in our region.

The sessions below will each be followed by a 30 minute, offline, open forum discussion amongst participants.
