Dr. Slutkin and Mr. Arthur are visiting South Africa to share and discuss the CeaseFire Program Model. Dr Slutkin is founder of CeaseFire, a proven successful initiative of the Chicago Project for Violence Prevention, which seeks to reduce shootings and killings by approaching violence through a public health lens. The CeaseFire intervention and behavior change method is now statistically proven as effective at reducing shootings and killings by a three-year scientific and independent evaluation commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice.
