Pre-event announcement
Mifugo Project in conjunction with Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) have organized a Regional Workshop to review and validate a Training Manual on Combating Cattle Rustling.
The workshop follows completion of a Regional Training Manual on Combating Cattle Rustling, which has been developed by the Mifugo Project over the past few months. The Training Manual targets officers from various government departments; law enforcement, judiciary and veterinary agencies in the five countries that are implementing the Protocol on the Prevention, Combating and Eradication of Cattle Rustling in Eastern Africa, that is Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The Training Manual will have to be adopted by the implementing Member States prior to publishing and disseminating the content.
Objectives of the workshop are to review and enrich the draft contents of the Training Manual, and to validate the contents as per the Regional Curriculum adopted previously.
The following are expected from each of the five Mifugo Project implementing states; representatives of the EAPCCO Training and Planning Committees, police training colleges, institutes for the training of prosecutors and judges, veterinary and livestock departments.
