Agenda 2063: how much progress has been made?

Despite some gains, Agenda 2063 is being held back by political instability, fragile countries and governance deficits.

According to the African Union’s (AU) second report on the implementation of Agenda 2063, the continent performed better in 2021 than in 2019. Areas that require improvement are fostering shared values and ethics, and achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development. This seminar  will discuss challenges, opportunities and priorities, including partnerships between the African Union and the regional economic communities.

This seminar is one of three events co-hosted by the ISS and the Embassy of Kenya in Addis Ababa on the margins of the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the AU, Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms from 13-16 July in Nairobi.

The seminar will be conducted in English.
