ISS International Conference: Sudan: Impact of the ICC Arrest Warrants on Peace and Stability
17 March 2009, Addis Ababa

The conference will discuss the possible consequences of the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants for senior Sudanese officials, including the warrant for President Al-Bashir, on the country’s political landscape, specifically: the prospects for continued peace with the South and the implementation of the CPA, the viability of stabilising Darfur and achieving a comprehensive peace agreement, and how key external actors’ (such as the AU, Arab League, UN, UK) mediation strategies could develop.
