ISS Seminar & Campaign Launch, Johannesburg: Supporting Professional Policing and Police Integrity

Presented by the Crime and Justice Programme, Pretoria

After years of research, the Institute for Security Studies’ Crime & Justice Programme is releasing its most comprehensive analysis of police corruption in South Africa. This new monograph explores the causes and dynamics of police corruption in South Africa and the steps that the SAPS has taken to curb it.

The recommendations flowing from the research findings offer a foundation for real organisational change – including a focus on creating a culture of police integrity by mobilising the community to not only report incidents of corruption and police misconduct, but also to recognise and acknowledge professional policing.

Based on these findings, an exciting national campaign in support of professional policing will be launched at this event, including the release of the monograph ‘Protector or Predator?  Tackling police corruption in South Africa’.  Join us for a light breakfast and insightful presentation where the research findings and campaign objectives will be shared with you.
